Join the 30 Day Video Challenge (May 2013)

I gave myself a 30-day challenge to get super ninja at video in the Month of May, because I know that video marketing is the next level of growth for me and my business.

Instead of going this alone, I thought I’d invite you to join me in this challenge.

Here’s why.

Video marketing is the #1 tool to:

  • build your credibility and relatability
  • allow people to look you in the eyes and feel your energy
  • increase your know, like and trust factor
  • and transform visitors into buyers.

Simply adding a video to a sales page can increase conversions up to 80%. People are 4 to 5 times more likely to buy from you if they can actually see you and hear you.

So if you really want to skyrocket your business and build deep lasting relationships with your tribe, then you need to be on video.

I know that there are tons of excuses not to do video – I don’t have the technical know-how, I don’t have the time, I don’t have the confidence, I want it to be perfect, yadda yadda yadda.

That’s why I want to make this super easy for you to say yes to yourself, yes to your business and yes to your message.

There’s no signing up, there’s no paying money, it’s all completely free.

All you have to do is commit to filming yourself once a day starting May 1st – whether it’s for 30 seconds, 1 minute or 5 minutes. You don’t have to plan what you’re going to say or rehearse. You don’t need a fancy camera – you can simply use your smart phone or iPad. You don’t have to be perfect. And you don’t need to do anything with these videos.

The details really don’t matter. This challenge is simply about getting comfortable on camera and the easiest way to do that is by simply showing up and filming yourself once a day for 30 days.

At the end of May, I want you to be able to look back and see how far you came. I want you to realize that you can show up and inspire anyone with your message. All you have to do is turn on the camera and talk.

I’m going to be doing this challenge myself the entire month of May. Every day, I’m going to post a video on my YouTube channel and in The 30 Day Video Challenge Facebook group.

I’d love for you to join me!

And, to keep you inspired and motivated, I’ve got some prizes to give away at the end of the month! **details below**

HOW TO JOIN THE 30 DAY VIDEO CHALLENGE:

STEP 1: If you want to join in, simply watch the video above and leave a comment letting the world (and us) know you’re doing this!

STEP 2: Spread the word! It’s always easier when you have a friend (or three) to support you along the way.

STEP 3: Join the 30 Day Video Challenge Facebook GroupThis is where you’ll be posting your videos (if you feel like showing them to the world) and where we’ll be sharing some free advice and training along the way…. It’s completely OK if you prefer to keep this private. The goal here is for you to get comfortable on camera. Nothing more, nothing less.

…AND THE PRIZES ARE:

**MOST TRANSFORMED – selected by the LYM team

  • An iPad of your choice ($399 value) AND a scholarship to Message to Money ($999 value).

**AUDIENCE AWARD – selected by YOU

  • An iPad of your choice ($399 value) OR a scholarship to Message to Money ($999 value)

**WORST FIRST VIDEO – we all have to start somewhere, so don’t worry where you’re starting from, just start and you may win a prize

**BEST MESSAGE – you know I’m a sucker for a good message… :)

  • A scholarship to Hidden Story Power ($197 value).

**MOST CHARISMA – say it with enough inspiration, presence and enthusiasm and everybody will notice**

  • A scholarship to Hidden Story Power ($197 value).

**MOST SHY TO MOST COMFORTABLE – a nod to the introverts among us**

  • A scholarship to Hidden Story Power ($197 value).

**MOST SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY MEMBER – give a lot to the community and get a lot back!**

  • A scholarship to Hidden Story Power ($197 value).

**PLUS SOMETHING SPECIAL (TBA) TO EVERYONE WHO COMPLETES THE 30 DAY VIDEO CHALLENGE!!!**

Without further ado, I invite you to join me in the 30 Day Video Challenge.

Are you in? Simply leave a comment below and let us know.

Here’s to you on camera!

Thank you for creating this. I really want to participate on this important voyage. Good thing it’s not a cruise ship voyage or I would be heartbroken to have missed it by a day. It’s May 2 and I did make a video today.
You are great. See you on video.

I’ll give it a shot. I’d love some advice on using the ipad to make a video without looking like a dork. I’ve done 2 videos for my blog and they both took hours. I didn’t bother with editing, I just kept doing it over and over until I got a fluid single take I wasn’t embarrassed using. Then my PC took a hell of a long time to upload from my camcorder. I know the ipad would be quick on the technology side.

If I post my videos, I need to know that they are private to this group. I can’t have my practice videos out in cyberspace for anyone to see … too embarrassing and possibly damaging. What’s the story? I need to know before I risk posting.

    Reply ·
    1. Marisa Murgatroyd

Hi Neill – Yes, they’re private. We’ll make the group private once the Challenge starts. If you’d like a shot at one of the prizes, we just ask that we can feature your first video and your last video (Day 1 and Day 30). If you prefer to stay private, that’s fine too… Glad you’re taking this opportunity to face your demons… :)

Yo! Greetings from Iceland. I am definatly IN :) Made just a couple of videos and know that I need to make more. I’m juggling 5 major projects right now, so I have decided to give at least 2 hours a day to each of them and the rest of the day focus on the most urgent one. So part of my 2 hours of “The Pearls of Pauline” and “The Change of Life Support Network” will have video’s done for them each day in May :)

I might cheat a wee bit and record say 3 on a Friday if I am going away for the weekend, so that I will have the stuff done, but drip them over the weekend.

Should we post our links here on this page so that we can all follow what each other is doing?

Thanks for this idea Marisa. I much prefare doing this with other people. It can get lonely being an entrepreneur in a family that does not believe in you or do not want to help.

    LoVe Pauline
