Superhero Branding

Art VS Business: How Making Your Business Your Work of Art will Save the World

If you’ve ever bored by business or marketing – or even worse your business or marketing – this video is for you…

I’m here at what I call the Sock Tree House at the corner of 24th and Pacific. What I love about the Sock Tree House is that you think the tree is just a tree, but no. Here a tree is a work of art. It’s a beautiful work of art all wrapped in yarn and color and texture and all kinds of beautiful, fuzzy, touchable stuff.

A lot of people think that business is business and marketing is marketing.

But just like a tree can be a work of art, I believe that business and marketing can be a work of art too… and it’s a lot more fun when you approach business and marketing as if it were a work of art, your work of art, your masterpiece for the world.

In a world of 1.8 billion websites with about 3.5 billion people online today, I believe that the only way to stand out from the noise and be heard and be seen and be received, is to turn up the dial and your unique expression. To be more you. To be the amplification and the magnification of you.

Your biggest, boldest self, because that’s the only way to cut through the noise and actually be seen, be heard and Live Your Message.

A lot of people are afraid to be seen. A lot of people are afraid to really reveal all of who they are for fear of being judged.

But guess what?

You’re being judged every single day no matter what you’re saying or how you’re being. The creators of this incredible work of art, the Sock Tree House, are being judged every single day by neighbors who think they are cuckoo-cuckoo-cuckoo. But look, if they didn’t do this, we’d be missing out on this incredible experience right now.

(Special thanks and a huge shout out to Eugenia Lindenbaum for generously allowing me to film in her garden!)

Now let me ask you, what would happen if you expanded your range of expression? If you dared to be just a little bit more of who you are? If you turned up the volume, pumped up the volume on who you’re being and how you’re expressing yourself?

Because you no longer care what other people think about you because the moment you become more of you and share without fear of being judged, is the moment people are magnetized by you and fall in love with you.

What would your business and your marketing look like if you took off the muzzle, if you took off any parameters or restrictions on how you’re being in communicating and dared to be you, all of you? What would your business and marketing look like then?

How much fun could you be having and more importantly how much fun could your tribe be having if you dared to express fully in your business and your marketing and be all of you?

I believe that when you allow your business to be the expression of who you fully are, then you attract the people who you’re meant to lead. You attract the people who you’re meant to serve. You attract the people who resonate with you.

In today’s market when there are dozens if not hundreds or even thousands of options for what you do, people choose to work with you, invest in you, not because of what you do and what you can do for them, but because of who you are and how you can make them feel. And when you’re more of who you are, you make them feel more of who they are.

That is the beginning of a relationship built on transformation where people can get their needs met and become more of who they are in the process.

When you find your message and you dare to communicate your message in a way that is uniquely you, your business transmits all of who you are and it attracts people who want to follow you.

Think of your business, your message, your marketing like the transmission of your message into the world. And when you turn up the dial on that transmission it can be heard far and wide around the world.

I’m here with Mr. Weatherman at the top of this pole, who can see far and wide. And when you amplify your message, when you transmit at a higher frequency and a stronger signal, people will hear you around the world.

That’s when you become Internet Famous and that’s when you change the world from your living room.

And it all begins with thinking about marketing, thinking about business as your masterpiece, your work of art.

Let’s do away with boring marketing, let’s do away with boring business once and for all, because that’s rule number one of business and marketing, don’t be boring.

Be you.

Be all of you.

Don’t just Live Your Message, BE your message.

If you’re ready to break out of the “business as usual” box and build a business you (and your tribe) can love, then I’d like to invite you to join us at our annual Message to Money Live event here in Los Angeles on February 16-18.

I have come a long way and the more of me the more this world will be a better place, because I do want to find a way to bring my message out to the world.

Maria – I think the trick is allowing an unfolding… don’t hold back, yet be aware of the context and how much you share how fast….
