Podcasting for Business: Tap Into iTunes 500M Active Buyers

If you’re anything like me, you have a big message for the world and you want to shout it from the mountaintops… You want as many people as possible to hear it.

This means creating content. Lots of it. And then you gotta get it out to the most people possible. Which takes time. A lot of it.

Can you see the big problem here?

There’s simply not enough time in the day to get it all done. And most people are doing it the hard way. Each week they sit down in front of their computer and labor over each piece of content. They create awesome content — blog posts, videos, emails, and programs. And with the time that’s left, they share it with a few people, and then start all over again the next week.

But the fact is– when you do that, you’re shortchanging yourself and the very people you want to help.

Your content has the ability to really help people and change lives, but only if it gets into the right hands.

Here’s the easy way to do just that: You simply leverage the biggest content distribution system of repeat buyers on the planet. iTunes. These people (only 500 million or so of them!) are screaming out for quality content they can consume on their phones, tablets and other mobile devices. Your content.

That’s why I interviewed podcasting expert Kris Gilbertson. Kris has helped leading entrepreneurs such as Wendy Stevens and Sean Malarkey launch successful podcasts that have lead to a 50-500% increase in website traffic, increased the opt-in rate by 2 or 3 times, and generated huge sales.

Kris shared these Top 3 Reasons to Use Podcasting for Business:

1. Discoverability

There are over 500,000,000 active buyers in iTunes and 45 Million listeners on a monthly basis. The demographic of a podcast listener is one that is affluent and extremely hard to reach through other marketing channels. Making podcasting an excellent way to allow you to be found, heard, and turn listeners into loyal customers.

People are searching for experts more and more everyday to help them solve their problems and entertain them. Positioning yourself in front of this audience is like a giant Joint Venture just waiting to happen for your business.

2. Traffic – Leads – Sales – oh my!

The unique power of a podcast is that people get to take you with them on the go. Which allows them to consume your content when they want, where they want and on which ever device they want.

Making the connection with you and your content + message incredibly powerful.

They are tuning in: Because they want to learn from you, you have their undivided attention.

When you provide high quality content and offer an engaging call-to-action your listeners already know, like and trust you. This is how my clients have been able to massively increase traffic to their websites (40-500%) and double their email opt-in rates from their podcast.

3. Powerful Connections

A podcast has high connection power. People are listening to your tonality, inflection, energy, and most importantly your passion.

With a podcast, your words now become so much more powerful than simply just text on a screen.

Plus, people will listen to a podcast far longer than they will any other marketing channel. You get to keep the attention of your listener longer, therefore creating a stronger bond and relationship.

This is so important to understand because your listeners will begin to feel like they are best friends with you.

Friends = Trust. Trust = Sales. Podcast = Automate Sales.

=====

And to add one last point to the mix, podcasts aren’t going away. They may have just risen from the ashes in recent months but they are only going to keep growing.

The reason being — your smart phone. Yes, the phone you have right beside you right now! More and more people are using their

phones as computers and wanting to be able to consume information on the go.

And a podcast enables you to be where your customers are already at — on their phone.

Now is the most important time to take advantage and position yourself in the iTunes market place for success.
