When you hear the word “rest” do you think of lying on your couch watching TV?

In his book The Power of Rest, Matthew Edlund. M.D. says active rest rewires your body and mind so you can do more in less time.

There are 4 types of Active Rest:

Mental rest with practices such as meditation.

Social rest which is about connecting with others for a sense of belonging and restoration.

Spiritual rest which is about finding purpose and meaning through prayer or reflection.

And physical rest which is rebooting your body with gentle workouts such as Yoga.

Active Rest lets you experience renewal on all levels — mental, physical, spiritual and social and it’s a game-changer.
