Why Your Ideas Must Boldly Go Where No Idea Has Gone Before: Insider Secrets from the Queen of Disruption

Did you know some people call me the Queen of Disruption? I earned the title because I’m ALL about the power of disruptive ideas 🙂

No matter what kind of business you’re in — coaching, coding, copywriting — you’re in the “idea business.”

ALL businesses today — at least the ones that succeed — run on ideas.

But it isn’t enough to just keep coming up with ideas. You need to ask yourself, “Are my ideas any good?”

Here’s the thing…

Ideas are a dime a dozen.

There are 1 dollar ideas. There are a thousand dollar ideas. There are million dollar ideas… and yes even billion dollar ideas.

And if you want to have an impact…

If you want to make a real difference…

If you want to change the world…

Then you have to move forward with a BIG idea.

Because taking action on a million dollar idea is going to do WAY more for you and your business than taking action on a one dollar idea.

Unfortunately, most people just scratch the surface of what they can actually do and where they can go with their ideas.

They start out with a bang and then everything ends in a disappointing fizzle.

No one pays any attention because their idea isn’t big enough, exciting enough, or different enough.

In rapidly changing or uncertain times, you have to be willing to take action on big, bold, breakthrough ideas.

To be relevant now and in the future you’ve got to be willing to let go — to disrupt — what’s working now. You’ve got to disrupt what’s just okay so you can find what’s going to work even better in the future.

William Faulkner famously said,

“In writing, you must kill all your darlings”

and I believe that in business you’ve got to “kill your darling ideas” too.

Because when you let go of “darling ideas” that are ordinary…

Ideas that are just okay…

You’ll open yourself up to out-of-the-ordinary ideas that will take you, your clients, your business, and maybe even the whole world to a whole other level.

You could discover ways of working, living and being that’s beyond anything anyone can even imagine right now.

Look at it this way…

If you want to win the battle to get your customers’ attention with your ideas, think like Captain Kirk, or Commander Spock…

Boldly go where no idea has gone before…

(Close your eyes and hear the Star Trek theme song)

You need disruptive ideas.

Are you willing to disrupt what’s working, what’s just okay, to find those extraordinary ideas?

So the boldest, most disruptive, idea that you’ve ever had — what is it? I want you to take at least one action step around it today because when you do — oh, my GOSH — you will get attention like it’s nobody’s business!

What’s that big, bold, disruptive idea you’re going to take action on? Let me know in the comments…

Then, go out there and Live Your Message.

Love it? Hate it? Let me know...

The first step for me is definitely to kill some darlings NOW! I’m already on this tack at the idea stage sensing a few things that GOTTA GO. But today the action sword WILL come out. The first step is to withdraw from some team teaching gigs which will automatically free up 16 days for me before the end of the year! Some open space is needed for any creative disruptive ideas I have to flow into! I can already breathe more freely. Abundant thanks for always being right on target, Marisa!

good question. in talking to my female friends in the Philippines. I have realized that there is a huge need for women there to find a way to make money, get an education, get a better living environment overall. people here in the USA don’t realize how great we have it here. and as single women here e are so blessed. I talked to friend the other day that still has to boil water for her son to take a bath. wow! for me. one thing i would like to do is figure out some way to get training to these women no matter how much schooling they have so they can create a better life for themselves. maybe find a way to teach them how to start own business. maybe foundation to help them. but i feel, like they deserve better and there has to be a way to help move them forward to a better life. and I’m leaving out the families that live in areas that have typhoons every year that get floods and once in a while get completely wiped out.
this is the idea i came up with….. but i’m just 1 person with an idea that has health issues right now and can not work yet and dont have any money to start anything. thank you for the motivation.

Hi Annie! Wow, what an amazing mission and you’re so right about the things we take for granted in the US. Thank you for sharing! And at one point every entrepreneur started out as one person with an idea. Some of the greatest didn’t have a penny to their name and many obstacles like the ones you are facing. So don’t let any of that discourage you! If you are determined and passionate about your mission (which I can tell you are), you will find a way and you will attract people to help you along your journey.

In it, I help you discover the business you’re meant to build … and gain the clarity you need to move forward and share it with the world. I hope it helps and please let me know what you think! ?
